Raised in Sheffield, Alabama, Mark Williams was a part of the original group of families that began Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Mark trusted Christ after graduation from high school prior to attending the University of Alabama where he was involved in Campus Crusade for Christ. Upon graduation, he spent two years on staff with Campus Crusade in Atlanta, Georgia with the Executive Ministries, an outreach of CCC, to business and professional people. It was during this time that he married his wife, Becky, also a graduate of the U of A. While in Atlanta, Mark and Becky joined Perimeter Presbyterian Church and were involved with the youth ministry. After two years, they moved to Birmingham, Alabama where Mark attended Cumberland School of Law and they transferred their church membership to Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Mark served as a Deacon at Briarwood and was involved in Frank Barker's small group men's discipleship group. Mark and Becky also completed Evangelism Explosion training while at Briarwood. They began a family in Birmingham, having two sons and a daughter while living there. Mark worked at Compass Bank and later as a Residential Homebuilder. They relocated to Tuscumbia, Alabama after Mark agreed to manage a local building company. Mark and Becky joined First Presbyterian Church, Tuscumbia and had their fourth child, a daughter, after moving to the Shoals. Mark and Becky immediately saw the need for a PCA church in Florence and got involved with bible study groups at First Presbyterian made up of families from Florence. After about 3 years, Mark and Becky, as part of the Florence families, asked First Presbyterian to sponsor a church plant in Florence. First Presbyterian agreed and Henry Morris was called as an assistant pastor in charge of beginning a church in Florence. In 2000, Redeemer Presbyterian Church became a "particular church" with Henry Morris as the pastor. Elder elections where held and Mark was elected as one of the 4 original elders. He serves in that capacity today. Mark and Becky have also served on the school board of Covenant Christian School which was founded by First Presbyterian Church. He is the father of Thomas (a sophomore at the U of A and is involved in RUF), Lee (a senior at Covenant Christian School and is planning to attend the U of A), Caroline (a 7th grader at Covenant) and Emma (a 5th grader at Covenant). He currently is a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and his wife Becky works as an RN at Helen Keller Hospital.

So none of your children plan to go to Auburn?
We're thankful to have you as an elder. God bless your labors.
