Psalm 95:2
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Times Daily Article Featuring Campus Outreach at UNA!

Redeemer,

Below is a link to an article in today's Times Daily about the "International Thanksgiving Dinner" Campus Outreach sponsored.  Praise God for how he used Chad and Emily and the student leadership team for CO (many of whom are RPC members) to reach out to these international students!

Meet RPC Ruling Elder - Wes Marchman

Wes Marchman grew up in Decatur, GA and stayed in Atlanta to attend Georgia Tech where he received degrees in Chemistry and Biology. While at Tech he began to think more about spiritual things, but it wasn't until he was attending medical school in Augusta, GA that he fully understood what it meant to be a Christian. A fellow medical student invited him to First Presbyterian Church of Augusta and under the teaching of this church, Wes became a Christian and began growing in faith. He met his wife, Elizabeth, at First Pres and they were married there in 1983. Since that time, they have lived in Jackson, MS, Greenville, NC, and moved to Florence in 1994.Wes and Elizabeth have 5 children, Daniel(20), Helen(18), Charles(16), Rebecca(15), and Benjamin(8). Wes and Elizabeth have homeschooled their children until high school at which time they entered public school. Daniel and Helen are currently involved in RUF on their college campuses. Upon moving to Florence in 1994 Wes and his family joined First Pres in Tuscumbia, and several years later became part of the church plant Redeemer. Wes is a general surgeon in Florence, he loves playing golf, especially with his sons, and loves going to GA Tech football games.

Honoring those who serve . . .

Today is Veteran’s Day.  It’s a day that the U.S. Government set aside to honor those that have sacrificially given of themselves by serving in our military.  Take some time today to thank God for the men and women who have served in our military.  Another way to be an encouragement to a Veteran today would be to personally thank them for their service to our nation.  To our Veterans at Redeemer we are sincerely thankful for your service and praise God for giving you the grace and strength to serve Him and our nation faithfully!

PCA's 2009 Mercy Ministries Conference

Who Is My Neighbor?  An expert in the law trying to justify himself asks Jesus who is my neighbor? Jesus replies in 8 very well known verses. If you know the answer or the verses themselves you may be interested in the PCA Mercy Conference March 12-14 2009 in Chattanooga, TN. The next practical question would be: How much do I really want to serve my neighbor?

Although the cost is modest for this conference Redeemer Church will probably not be able to financially sponsor members to attend. The cost for 2 nights and 4 meals is $368. For 2 people sharing a room the cost is $259. PCACEP will start accepting registrations in December and I will let you know when they start.

This conference will feature 3 key note type presentations, fantastic music and about 20 workshops to pick from addressing various Mercy Ministry efforts, challenges and basic information on implementation.  Some of the workshops scheduled are: Adoption, Disability, English as a Second Language, Staff Volunteers, Benevolence, Community Outreach, and Community Peacemaking.

So if this challenges you heart at all meditate on it, pray for the means to attend, have others pray for your direction.  Mercy ministry is a heart issue. If you do not give a portion of your loving heart to it, your efforts will be dry and empty footsteps. Jesus can meet you in the eyes of your hurting neighbor.

Who is my neighbor?  See Luke 10:30-37. For more info on the conference see David or Sue Vial

In Christ,

David

Meet RPC Ruling Elder - Tony Faggioni

Tony Faggioni, is from Gulf Breeze, Florida. He has been a member of Redeemer Church since 2000. Tony has had the privilege of serving as Ruling Elder for a year. He is married to wife Natalie (5years), and has three sons Eli (4), Ethan (2), and Gray (8 weeks). Tony came to know the Savior while attending a Campus Outreach Beach project. For the first time, he saw that he lived an unbroken self-centered life. Tony lived his life to please himself, for the love of the world, and to make himself more popular. The Savior through the lives of others and the power of His word revealed to Tony that he never knew God as the one true treasure of his life. Tony now, although imperefectly, and by God's Grace, lives for the glory of God. Tony is currently employed with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and serves the Lord as a Pharamceutical Sales Representative. He enjoys Date nights with Natalie, UNA football, playing and fishing with his three sons. Tony's favorite bible verse is Jeremiah 24:7 "I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart."
